Performers Regulations

Professional Class

1. No restriction of Educational Institution requirements.
2. No restriction of nationality.
3. No age requirements for Performer members entry.
4. Performer members minimum required must be 6 people.
5. A performer can only be participating and representing ONE TEAM in each category.

Basic Class

1. Performer members must be student and studied at the same school or institute only.
2. Performer members must studied at present school not less than one semester.
3. No restriction of nationality.
4. Age requirements for Performer members must below than 14 years old, born since 2012 (Count by year only).
5. Performer members minimum required must be 6 people.
6. A performer can only be participating and representing ONE TEAM in each category.

Eligibility Certification

1. Class that require a certificate is Basic Class
2. The school principal or acting school principal sign and certify all names and stamp the school's seal on every sheet.The names should be all together, not separated by individual (You can add the names of reserve contestants. The team will check the number and cross out the names before entering the contest.). [Click here to download example]
3. The Eligibility Certification must be no more than 60 days old from the first day of the competition.
4. Send the original Eligibility Certification at Sisaket before competition.

Classification & Category Change Policy

1. Category change request is available only after the announcement of the names of the participation within 7 days. After the 7 day period, no changes are allowed in any case. Each team must check the accuracy of the category they are competing in and adhere to the announced list. If there are any errors, changes cannot be made after the deadline for changing categories has passed.
2. Classification change request is available only 60 days prior to the first date of the competition period. You are not allowed to make any changes which is not in that period.
3. Classification & Category can only change once.

Event Performance

General Rules

1. If the all participants over teams limite must send a video for qualifying round and score ranking (Preliminary) to select not more than 32 teams (including all classes) to the Semi Finals and the Finals.
2. International participants will be eligible to enter the semi-finals and finals automatically and will be counted in all 32 teams.
3. The champion of Band Competition of Thailand (only for Thailand Band present year and same category only) will be eligible to enter the semi-finals and finals automatically and will be counted in all 32 teams.
4. Judging System by World Marching Band Organization (WMBO), all classes are being judged by different criteria.
5. Can select any suitable songs and the participant team must responsibility for music copyright in anycase.
6. Not allow to use Fire, live animals all the time when performance.
7. Equipment that looks like real firearms (excluding the Color Guard's Rifle equipment) and equipment that is sharp and dangerous to the performers are not permitted.
8. Gestures that suggest violence, such as the throat-cutting gesture, and sexually inappropriate and disrespectful gestures are not allowed. Inappropriate gestures that are aggressive and lack good manners towards each other are not allowed.
9. Be careful when using religious or emotionally sensitive content in your presentation. Avoid content that is likely to cause misunderstanding.
10. Any kind of equipment or props including electrical equipment are allowed to use for the performance by taking into consideration of the performer’s safety for the first priority. Staffs reserve the right to consider not granting permission in case of seeing the risk of the equipment.
11. Only participants can stay in the competition area.
12. Props and equipment NOT allow to put inside the stadium before or after competition, must take everything out from competition area.

Technical Rules

1. Electric instruments and synthesizers allow using.
2. Amplifier band must prepare can not use from stadium system.
3. NOT allow to use canvas to cover the floor.
4. All categories must submit a video for the ranking round (take a horizontal video and submit it via Google Drive) by December 15, 2025 only. Failure to submit a video will result in a zero score for the ranking round.

Special Rules for Woodwinds Battle

1. Specific instruments allow to use is woodwinds instruments only.
2. Allow to use Drum-Set, Electric Drum, Electric Keyboard, Electric Bass Guitar etc. and Auxiliary Percussion, allow three (3) person only to play those instruments and can set up anywhere in battle area.
3. Allow to use wireless microphone with all woodwinds instruments and connect to amplifier (Teams need to prepare).
4. NOT allow to use Concert Percussion, Marching Percussion and Brass.

Special Rules for Brassline Battle

1. Specific instruments allow to use is brass instruments only.
2. Allow to use Drum-Set, Electric Drum, Electric Keyboard, Electric Bass Guitar etc. and Auxiliary Percussion, allow three (3) person only to play those instruments and can set up anywhere in battle area.
3. NOT allow to use Concert Percussion, Marching Percussion and Woodwinds.

Special Rules for Drumline Battle

1. Specific instruments allow to use is Marching Percussion instruments complete with carrier or any traditional drums (unpitched percussion) with holder, not allow to put drums on stand or floor and play.
2. Allow to use Electric Keyboard, Auxiliary Percussion, allow three (3) person only to play those instruments and can set up anywhere in battle area.
3. NOT allow to use Drum-Set and concert percussion or pitch percussion (marimba, vibraphone, etc.) and all winds instruments

Special Rules for Color Guard Battle

1. Specific for color guard equipments.
2. The performance must perform with music.
3. All types of musical instruments allow to used in the performance and/or Audio Synthesizer Effect controllers are allowed in total not more than 6 people, can placed in any position in the competition area or may be involved in the performance.
4. Team can use your own amplifier
5. If want to open from the venue need to bring your own device (must compatible 3.5 mm jack input) with your own staff to control your own music.
   

Competition Timing

1. Ranking Round is allowed a performance time of 1 to 2 minutes , total 1 set.
2. Battle Round is allowed a performance time of 1 to 2 minutes per set total 2 set.
3. For 3rd Place Round is allowed a performance time of 1 to 2 minutes, only 1 set.
4. Battle Round for FINALS is allowed a performance time of 1 to 2.30 minutes per set total 2 set.

Set Up & Start

1. A team is allowed five (5) minutes to set-up and warm-up anywhere in the performance area (no penalty).
2. After the announcement is over the first step or first moving by the band after the announcement will start count time to performance.
3. Stopping timer at the end of the performance will be counted from the last sound or movement of the performance.
4. The team should completely vacate the performance field within three (3) minutes of the end of the Performance (no penalty).

Performance Field Diagram

1. The field size is 15x15 Yards. (Using more space than specified is allowed if necessary, but should not exceed 2 yards. Please check the competition venue to reduce errors and prevent accidents that may occur.)
2. The field will be black as shown in the example below (the field will be used together between Marching Street Parade and Marching Music Battle).

Penelty

1. Over or below the rules timing and participants lost one vote for one judge to another side.
2. Any participants over age limit of participants rules will not allow to join competition.
3. The violation to the general rule no.11 & 12 will result in penalty for 5 points.
4. Repealing from the competition during the competition period. Participants must submit a letter explaining the objectives and reasons for repealing to The Marching Band Association of Thailand and signed by the organization authority. Repealing will be complete only with the consent of The Marching Band Association of Thailand. Any action that violates and / or does not comply with the rules and regulations of the competition. The committee reserves the right to disqualify that participant from all competition organized by The Marching Band Association of Thailand for 5 years.
