The Watthanakhon School Marching Band was established in 1994 by Mr. Sanchai Suuthai, the school director at that time. Under the guidance and instruction of Mr. Jakkraphon Phairoj, the band was formed as an activity to enhance students’ musical intelligence, develop discipline, teamwork, and productive use of their free time. Over the past 30 years, the Watthanakhon School Marching Band has provided services within the school, community, society, and both governmental and private sectors. The band has also participated in various competitions, earning awards at provincial, regional, and national levels. Notable achievements include:

Achievements

1.First Runner-Up in the 3rd All Thailand School Band Festival (1998): The band won the first runner-up prize in the All Thailand School Band Festival III in 1998, contending for the royal trophies of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak. Organized by Siam Music Yamaha Co., Ltd. and the Ministry of Education, the event took place at Supachalasai Stadium, Pathumwan, on Saturday, December 26, 1998.

2.Fourth Place in the Thailand Marching Band Competition (2024): The band secured the fourth place in the Thailand Marching Band Competition 2024, in the Marching Field Parade Division 1, for bands not exceeding high school level (Grade 12), held from October 25-27, 2024, at Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Center, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

Current Leadership

Currently, the Watthanakhon School Marching Band operates under the leadership of Mr. Jirasak Srithongkham, the school director. Mr. Pongsathorn Sema serves as the band director and head instructor, while Mr. Athichai Sanna and Mr. Jedsada Boonyoprakarn are also instructors for the band.
