Virtuoso

Moscow City (exemplary) creative team brass band Virtuosos of the Moscow City State Educational Institution "Center for Creative Development and Musical and Aesthetic Education "Joy" together with the Moscow City State Educational Institution "First Moscow Cadet Corps" was created in 2018. The team has become a bright "calling card" of the cadet school, an indicator of the quality of general cultural education and creative development of cadet students.

The Virtuosos Brass Band is a multiple winner of the Grand Prix of national and international competitions, the winner of the ARTIS Award, and the winner of the creative competitions at the Orlyonok (2023), Smena (2024), and Artek (2025) international children's centers. It is a regular participant in the Spasskaya Tower for Children festival, as well as international competitions and festivals in Moscow, Minsk, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Tver, Ryazan, Tuapse, Anapa, Nizhny Novgorod, Veliky Ustyug, Syzran, and other Russian cities.

Today, the Virtuosos brass band enlivens drill classes at the cadet school, decorates demonstrations on the parade ground, and participates in the solemn ceremonies of swearing in by young cadets, as well as in celebrations dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, Victory Day, and other events.

Playing in a brass band is a ceremonial and festive tradition not only of academic music, but also of military, street, and public square music, which dates back to the time of Peter the Great and has a history of more than 300 years in Russia. The most important aspect of musical education for cadet students is the format of the parade concert, which includes choreographic elements, festive props, and spectacular stunts. The brass band consists of over 100 students aged 10 to 16.

The great Russian military leader Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov said that "the sounds of the marching band's music multiply the strength of Russian soldiers." Today, in the daily routine of education, music provides students with vivid experiences, inspires creativity, and creates favorable conditions for a deeper understanding of knowledge and skills in various fields of science and art.
