We are a Marching Band formed as a forum for musical talent for Semarang State Junior High School students, Gita Bahana Smepsa (GBS) itself was only formed around September 2015, precisely on September 19, 2015 ago. Starting from the need for an activity forum where in SMP Negeri 1 Semarang there are many students who have drum band music talent on the other hand there is no forum / association. Considering that SMP Negeri 1 is an educational institution that is bound by the curriculum, marching band activities are used as one of the extra curricular in 2015.

The role of the Semarang Public Junior High School 1 Committee has significance in the birth of this curricular ecotour activity, and as an implementation of the people's mandate contained in Law No. 25 of 2000 on national development programs (Propenas 2000 - 2004) where the School Committee has a role as well as an obligation to encourage the success of education along with all student support activities such as one of the Extra-Curricular Marching Band Activities, The School Committee has facilitated the establishment of drum band activities.

Departing from the blessing and permission of the School and facilitated by the Public Junior High School 1 Committee , the marching band extra-curricular activity unit was formed under the name "Gita Bahana Smepsa". So the first Public Junior High School Marching Band was born among state junior high schools in Semarang City. The existence of this Marching Band is also a revival of the SEMARANG SMPN 1 Marching Band Group, considering that in the era of the 70s when SMP Negeri 1 domiciled in Jalan Pemuda Semarang already has a Marching Band unit.

The personnel of "GITA BAHANA SMEPSA" in this first generation consists of students of class VII and class VIII. All of them are 94 students
